The brief
Brother Film were already established when they came to us to refresh their brand and build websites for their film work and their new venture into music. All we did was look and listen.
Based in a multicoloured multi-storey car park in one of South London’s most visually diverse neighbourhoods, the new brand reflected the area’s graphic vibrancy.
Overview
We utilised a collage style to craft the diverse local influences into a coherent UI design. From custom mouse effects, screen savers and linking the new circular logo to the user's scroll position, the site is intentionally full of quirky details.
Both sides of the Brother offering have gone from strength to strength and the site was awarded a SOTD (Site of the Day) from Awwwards.
Prototyping
We used prototyping extensively to road test different UX patents and trial different visual effects. This was imperative as the sites feature some unique elements including a webGL logo with page to page seamless transitions.
Flipping Music
The main site was created to be flipped easily, utilising the bulk of the film sites architecture but with a light/white theme. We worked to create custom generated waveforms for the music tracks to help give the site it's own unique features and personality.
