At Mallard & Claret, we believe design can be a powerful tool for change — not just for big brands, but for grassroots organisations doing vital work in their communities. That’s why we were proud to offer our services pro bono to support Tree Shepherd, a charity empowering local entrepreneurs across South East London.
The project came to us through our longstanding client British Land, a development company that champions sustainability and community growth. When they introduced us to Tree Shepherd, we immediately saw an opportunity to help amplify their mission with a website that matched their energy, ambition, and impact.
Tree Shepherd supports hundreds of early-stage businesses through mentoring, training, and affordable workspace — including their vibrant Thrive hub in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre. But their existing website didn’t reflect the full scope or spirit of their work.
We set out to change that.
Working closely with the Tree Shepherd team, we delivered a full rebrand and website rebuild, creating a digital space that is bold, welcoming, and easy to navigate. The new site features:
- A clean, content-rich layout with clear paths for entrepreneurs, partners and funders
- A vibrant business directory showcasing local success stories — from cocktail makers stocked in Harrods to natural skincare found at John Lewis
- Smooth page transitions and carefully structured information architecture to help users find support quickly
- A flexible CMS setup so the Tree Shepherd team can easily manage blogs, case studies, and market updates
This website marks a new chapter for Tree Shepherd. It’s more than a digital upgrade – it’s a reflection of our commitment to the entrepreneurs we serve. We now have a platform that truly tells their stories, connects them with new opportunities, and strengthens our community.
The new platform gives Tree Shepherd a digital presence that reflects their growing influence and helps them connect more effectively with the communities they serve.
